2007 Polska Kielbasa Days Softball Tournament (Aug 10-12th, 2007)Alright, the time has come!! Polska Kielbasa Days is just 8 days away. I know all of you are counting the days, but I have not heard from some of you Kato boys for awhile, so I thought I'd check in.2007 Roster:
We are still waiting to see if Heath wants to spend the weekend getting all drunk and stupid with us, or if he has to go to a family reunion in Milwaukee! Bright I'm pretty sure is going to the family thing instead of the softball thing. Poor guy!! If any of you have any friends that want to come along, let me know. I can't guarantee playing time, but they will get a Polish Days t-shirt WHEN WE WIN!!!! Or if any of you know some players that want to come along and play on the small diamond, I know of a team that is in desperate need of some players!! Let me know ASAP!! And FYI, I was out at a bar in Hudson last night and they have a video game of bags. YES, I said Video Bags!!! It has the roller like Golden Tee and that bowling game I suck at! And you CAN NOT pull a Blueberry in case you were wondering. For those of you who don't know what that is, Blue is known for rolling his bags half way across and rolling it up on the board!! Or in the hole!! That is it for now. For anyone interested, we will be golfing sometime on Friday morning or early afternoon. Usually in Hendricks. Let me know if you want in! GET OUT AND PRACTICE EVERYONE. I NEED EVERYONE TO DRINK A CASE OF COORS LIGHT AND A PACKAGE OF POLISH SAUSAGES THIS WEEKEND!!! WE NEED TO BE READY! If you would like to have your name removed from this list, I need to know NOW!!! Otherwise, plan on playing sometime early on Saturday August 11 on the BIG field in Ivanhoe. Remember, Ivanhoe is 3+ hours from the cities, so you may want to plan on being there Friday night. This will be my 15th year going, and my 12th (maybe more) year putting a team together for this tourney. Merda (Matt) and Lundgren have played the past 2 years. This year, I would like to invite any of you that may wish to play. It is August 10 - 12 (we only play Sat. and Sun.). It is a FUN weekend. The field is right next to the beer tent ($1 Coors Light all weekend), which is right next to the camp ground (free camping). So once you are in town on Friday night, you won't need to get in you car again until Sunday afternoon. If you don't like to camp, there is always hotels in Marshall. However, reservations should be made soon because that is the same time of year as some District tourneys in Marshall so sometimes the hotels get filled really early. Some other things to consider. They use Core 47, high compression balls. Not like the Core 44 (or 40), low compression that we use now. Also, the field is HUGE!! 325' down the lines and 350' to center. So you speedy guys can get doubles and triples all day long. Even I get at least one triple every year. Honestly!! QUIT LAUGHING!!! And for Heath and Burns, UNLIMITED HOMERUNS!!!!!!!!! So hit bombs all day long, especially with the harder balls!! - Gordy |
